There are three ways to register for a tournament:
1) Print off an entry form and mail it in (cheapest – no convenience of late fee).
2) Sign up online with a credit card (small online convenience fee).
3) Sign up the morning of the tournament (late registration – there is a $10 late fee).
The payback will depend on the total number of paid entries for each tournament. The $200 entry fee pays back 80%, and the $100 optional bonus pot pays back 90%. Once place is paid out for every five paid entries. The USAFT Championships pay back well over 100%. There is a $2,000 minimum guaranteed payout regardless of teams, and a $2,000 first place guaranteed payout starting 20 paid entries.
All new members must check in the morning of their first tournament, regardless of how they pay. There is a quick meet-n-greet and a chance to ask any questions you may have, and to make sure you have read the rules and understand them. Once you have checked in for your first event, then you are free to trailer, including your first event.
The fishing times are located on the Early Entries list for every event. They are posted the week of the tournament. The Start Time is usually about 20 minutes before sunrise. The stop time (water is dead at this time, unless you have a fish on before the stop time, at which point you can take as long as needed to reel it in) is usually 3:00 PM. The weigh in cutoff time (must be in line with fish) is usually 4:00 PM. Be sure to check the Early Entries page before each tournament.
